Microsatellites are short tandem repetitions of DNA motifs found in all organisms.
Microsatellites have been used as primers for genotyping of fungal strains, to study the evolution of fungal genomes as well as in the epidemiological studies of fungal pathogens.
However, not very much is studied about the microsatellite distribution in several fungal genomes.
FungREP is an exclusive database of fungal microsatellites with a user-friendly web-interface to analyze the distribution and abundance of these repeats.
FungREP hosts more than 10 million perfect and imperfect microsatellites along with their locus information, repeat statistics, protein info, etc.
